Our Promoter
Dr. Purnendu Chatterjee is a business builder leveraging on a unique background combining expertise in technology, management consulting and international investing. Under his leadership, The Chatterjee Group has garnered over three decades of experience in leveraged acquisitions of operating companies and other private-equity transactions and built up a highly successful investment record in India in several key areas, including Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, Information Technology Services, Software, Engineering, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, and Real Estate.
Dr. Chatterjee received a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur and got his Masters and Doctorate degrees in Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley. He was also a research associate at the Stanford Research Institute.
Dr. Chatterjee is a founding member of the Indian School of Business and Advanced VLSI Design Laboratory at IIT, Kharagpur. He is a trustee of The Asia Society and a member of the College of Engineering Advisory Board at the University of California, Berkeley. He also serves on the Boards of several Group portfolio companies.
Prior business associations of Dr. Chatterjee have been with the internationally renowned investor, George Soros as an advisor to the Quantum Group of Funds managed by Soros Fund Management and with McKinsey & Company where he led major strategic and organizational assignments for Chief Executive Officers of large industrial companies in the U.S., Europe, and Japan.
